Healthy Toothpaste One

Figuring out toothpaste was a struggle. The recipes I found were powder that you had to mix each time or a tooth-hurting mix with lots of vegetable glycerin or baking soda.
A while after reading about oil pulling, it dawned on me to mix cleansing, healing, mineralizing powders with oil. Now I have a healthy toothpaste that doesn’t hurt my teeth and can sit in the bathroom ready to go. I make enough to last about a month.

Safety first. Check with your medical practitioner if you are unsure of any of the ingredients.

Healthy Toothpaste One

6 tablespoons Arrowroot Powder

3 tablespoons Bentonite Clay

1 teaspoon Coconut Flour

1 teaspoon Ginger, ground powder

1 teaspoon Baking Soda

4-6 tablespoons Olive Oil or Coconut Oil, you can use both as you get the texture you want (Coconut requires more than Olive)

5 drops Rosemary Essential Oil

5 drops Peppermint Essential Oil

Directions: Mix dry ingredients and then add in wet ones and stir well. I stir with the end of my ceramic measuring spoon. I use a wide-mouth, one cup glass jar with a plastic lid to store it in.

Stir before each use as the oils can come to the top.

I use a plastic or ceramic spoon to dip out a small amount. Note: Metal dampers some of the benefits of the Bentonite Clay but doesn’t take them all away. I need all the help I can get so I stay away from metal spoons in this case.

Use a wet toothbrush to brush your teeth. At first it can seem too dry. You can get your toothbrush wet again. It won’t take long for the toothpaste to get more liquidy. Brush as normal getting all your teeth back and front. Sides as best you can. And gums too. Tongue as well.

Store toothpaste in bathroom in cool area. It should last about a month.
The expiration date on your ingredients will effect how long it lasts.

Warning: Spit toothpaste in trashcan. The clay will clog your drain!
